Room 227 | Sunday Morning

Sam hadn't slept last night. Usually, that wasn't a huge deal since he tended to sleep alone but now that he was living with his girlfriend, it was kind of hard to hide that from her at the very least. He'd laid there for awhile and then he'd gotten up and puttered around the room and eventually went for a walk.

Look, he'd been trying hard to make sure those ghosts didn't appear at night, okay? It was either not sleeping or wearing the pouch and he chose...not sleeping. Because he was an idiot.

But, he was awake now. He had a bowl of cereal in front of him, his skateboard laying wheels up next to his hip and his back against the foot of the bed. A few records were near his feet and one of them was on the record player, filling the room with quiet music.

But hey, he hadn't been entirely unproductive this past weekend. He'd gone into town, gotten himself a job, and now he was eating cereal and was about to fix up his skateboard.

So, things...could be worse.

[Door closed, post open!]

"Do I?" Sam asked, snickering a little at that. "What do I smell like? The bed? Sheets? Cereal? I haven't showered yet."

"New sheets," Natalie murmured. "And outside air. And you."

Which was a far less easily defined thing.

[necroslacker]

"Outside air?" Sam asked curiously. "Why do I smell like that?"

[whenshewasnice]

"I don't know," she said, shrugging though that was weird to do with her arms as they were. "Did you go for a walk?"

[necroslacker]

"Oh. Yeah, I did."

He'd almost forgotten about that.

"Earlier," he added. "Didn't realize the air was lingering on me."

[whenshewasnice]

"Well, it's not the most prominent scent," Natalie amended. "But it's there, yes."

[necroslacker]

"Guess I should just be glad I don't smell bad," he murmured quietly. "It was a quiet walk, at least. Pretty nice."

[whenshewasnice]

"You've smelled better," Natalie teased him idly, pressing most of the words into his skin. Since it was conveniently there and nice-smelling and everything. "Sometimes. But I'm glad your walk was good. This town is pretty quiet at night."

"Yeah." He was quiet for a few moments, just enjoying the feel of her pressed against his back and her arms around him. "Maybe I'll go on another one tonight or something to get more of that smell on me."

[whenshewasnice]

"Maybe," Natalie agreed. "Maybe I'll even come with you."

Or maybe she'd just lay in bed and wait for him to get back. One of those.

"You'd be asleep," he pointed out because, well, he thought she would.

[whenshewasnice]

"Can you be sure of that?" Natalie retorted.

[necroslacker]

"I haven't really seen you be awake that late with me before," Sam pointed out. "So, historical records prove that you would be."

[whenshewasnice]

"We've been living together for less than a week," Natalie pointed out back to him. "Your historical evidence is on the scant side."

[necroslacker]

"We've slept together before living together," Sam pointed out, turning his head to look at her. "That's where my historical evidence is coming from."

[whenshewasnice]

"Rarely," Natalie replied, taking advantage by pressing a kiss on his cheek. "I still think your case is about as flimsy as this kimono."

[necroslacker]

"But we have."

Sure, it might not have been a lot but they had.

"And that's an interesting comparison there. Got your...robe thing on your mind or something?"

[whenshewasnice]

"It's new," Natalie shrugged. This was the first time she was wearing it, and was yet to get used to how it hung over her thin frame and the tank top and shorts beneath. "No other reason."

[necroslacker]

"It's nice," he said, smiling at her. "I like how it looks on you. What made you get it?"

It didn't seem like it was hugely her style but he didn't want to get into an argument or anything if he said that out loud.

[whenshewasnice]

Another shrug. "Whim," she said. "And it was on sale."

And maybe she was turning horribly domestic.

"I like it," he said and smiled at her again. "You're gorgeous."

In and out of that robe thing.

[whenshewasnice]

"Why thank you," Natalie replied, and kissed his shoulder. "You're not so bad, either."

[necroslacker]

"I love you."

He said that...just because.

"And thank you."

[whenshewasnice]

"Je t'aime," she said with some more idle, light kisses. Barely there. "Jace laughed at me for moving in with you."

She thought she'd just drop that in there as an observation.

"Hmm?" He'd gotten a little distracted by those kisses. "Laughed at you? What for?"
