Sam's eyes had been on the trucks and wheels of the board while he rolled down the hallway so when he heard her voice, his head snapped up and he dropped a foot to the ground to stop himself gradually.

"That's putting me on the spot, isn't it?" Sam asked, rolling the board back and forth underneath his foot. "There might be a lot of math involved with my eventual answer."
