James came into view and stood up a little straighter.

"James," Haley said, coming over and putting a hand on his arm. "This is Natalie. One of Sam's friends. She just wants to check on him."

"He needs to rest," James said, giving Natalie an appraising look. "He's not awake anyway."

"I know," Haley said, nodding. "But, he can still have visitors. Come on, let's go get something to eat."

James wanted to protest but Haley pulled him along without much fight from James.
