Sam shook his head at that statement and looked down at his food. He wasn't going to say anything else lest he slip and actually tell her what was on his mind. It wouldn't go well though and he knew that.

He'd been almost sure that things were going well with them, that she actually cared for him on a level deeper than expected but he was back to being unsure again.

That sucked.
