room 216 ; wednesday afternoon

Like a moron, Sam was bleeding again. Skateboarding injuries happened so often that he'd just kept on boarding while the blood bled through the sleeves of his shirt and the sweat from his arms stung the scratches and gashes.

He'd eventually come back to his room and was just now getting to pulling off his shirt and taking a look at the damage. He'd definitely had worse (his back was a testament to that) but the souvenirs he'd gotten from a completely avoidable fall still hurt.

Sam took a seat on the bed and pulled out his first aid kit (yes, he had one). He'd get himself cleaned up and bandaged up and his elbows would ache and throb for a few hours before it wore off and they were good to get shredded in another fall in the future.

"You really should wear elbow pads," Brooke said, popping into existence beside him on the bed. Sam groaned and didn't look at her.

"Not now," he griped, shaking his head. "Go do...dead person things."

"Dead person things?" Brooke asked, laughing. "I am doing a dead person thing. I'm bothering you!"

Sam groaned again and tried to ignore her while he cleaned up his elbows. Arguing with Brooke was like arguing with a massive brick wall. He never won so he'd just listen.

[Door is halfway closed but the post is open. Regular humans are gonna just see and hear Sam talking to himself but if you've got the ability, you can see and hear Brooke too. NFB on what Brooke actually is though, please]

"If you use it for what you do, then I'm thinking it does." It all came back to blood. It tended to be one of those universal truths. "At least in part."

Kate shifted a shrug of her own, crossing her arms. "It's just not a risk I take." Possibly she was a lot little paranoid. "Would have my dad turning in his grave if I did."

"It's not a radar, just... Noticeable." To her at least. But then, she was Little Miss Blood Magic. "You can feel it."

Kate scrunched her nose up and waved dismissively. It wasn't like she actually wanted the things. Collecting blood was hardly a hobby. He could throw them if that was what he wanted to do. That didn't stop it from feeling vaguely wrong.

"You sacrifice a lot of shirts to skateboarding?" It was starting to seem like it.

"Here I thought you'd be used to a little drizzle," Kate said, twisting her lips into a little smirk. Enough to tough it out, perhaps. "London a little too much for you?"

The whole shirt search reminded her she was still standing here while he was wandering around half-clothed. Which somehow hadn't seemed so weird when there had been another person in the room.

It seemed a little odd now, though.
