Yeah, so Sam had woken up with girl parts. Fortunately, he wasn't gonna have a screaming fit of surprise. Unfortunately, he was also contemplating just sleeping this weirdness away so he didn't have to deal with anything that might be coming at him from certain parties. Of course, this plan was hindered by the fact that he didn't really sleep at all in the first place and meant he was more just acting like a lazy ass instead of sleeping.

This body was weird. It was smaller and softer and there were...things that he was used to touching, not having. He was curious about what his back looked like, if he'd kept those scars or not but he wasn't so curious as to try and look.

Nope. Sam was in bed, swimming in his clothes and trying to keep his longer hair out of his eyes. This island had a crappy sense of humor sometimes. He didn't want to be a girl, he didn't know how to be a girl.

And now he was a girl. Sigh.

"Everyone else was doing enough freaking out already," Toby shrugged. "Besides, from what I gather, this stuff doesn't last too long. Maybe if we're still all girl-y on Monday I might freak out, though."

"Yeah." Sam was right there with you, Toby. "I mean, the body's just...like man, how do girls deal with this stuff? It's weird but I'd rather not lose the little sleep I'm getting over it."

"A much healthier attitude than freaking out every time someone so much as mentions or alludes to the word 'breasts'," Toby noted. "Which, to be fair, I think Topher does on a regular basis anyway. It's just much more pronounced now that he's got a set of his own."

"This isn't something I'd say randomly but that guy just really needs to explore his body or something," Sam decided. "He acts like he never took a sex ed class before."

"I don't get it," Toby admitted. "There's much worse stuff to be afraid of out there."

"Like cereal with no milk," Sam quipped, unable to help himself though he was gesturing for the cereal box now.

"Downright terrifying," Toby agreed, handing it over.

"You seen anyone else you know looking different?" Sam asked as he took the cereal to get some. "Besides Topher, that is."

"My roommate, Jace. And... most of the people from the common room earlier, actually," Toby noted. "Dunno why everyone seemed to gravitate towards each other."

"Misery loves company?" Sam suggested with a shrug. "Or mutual companionship in trying to figure things out."

"Probably a little of both," Toby agreed. Hence why he'd sought Sam out, actually.

"Guess it's a good thing I'm not miserable," Sam decided, shrugging. "A little weirded out, sure, but what else is new? I've had worse things than this happen and as long as it goes away, I'll be fine."

"It's kind of interesting," Toby admitted. "If I were a science nerd I'd be planning all sorts of experiments on myself right now."

"I'm too lazy for that," Sam decided, shaking his head. "I'll just deal with it and let it pass and go on about life, I guess."

"You could make the argument that it's not laziness, it's zen or whatever," Toby pointed out thoughtfully.

"Yeah, but don't you have to be all mythical and deep to be zen?" Sam wondered.

"Good point," Toby admitted. "And you're about as deep as a wading pool, so I guess that's out," he ribbed.

"Ouch," Sam said, putting a hand to his...differently shaped chest. He took a moment to pause at that. "I could cry right now. And they'd be girl tears too."
