Yeah, so Sam had woken up with girl parts. Fortunately, he wasn't gonna have a screaming fit of surprise. Unfortunately, he was also contemplating just sleeping this weirdness away so he didn't have to deal with anything that might be coming at him from certain parties. Of course, this plan was hindered by the fact that he didn't really sleep at all in the first place and meant he was more just acting like a lazy ass instead of sleeping.

This body was weird. It was smaller and softer and there were...things that he was used to touching, not having. He was curious about what his back looked like, if he'd kept those scars or not but he wasn't so curious as to try and look.

Nope. Sam was in bed, swimming in his clothes and trying to keep his longer hair out of his eyes. This island had a crappy sense of humor sometimes. He didn't want to be a girl, he didn't know how to be a girl.

And now he was a girl. Sigh.

[Door's closed but the post is open, definitely! I totally didn't forget this at first!]

"Because you didn't know what you were supposed to do," she pointed out quietly. "Because you can't read minds." Which she was going to try and keep in mind from now on. "But you know now."

"I know now," he repeated, nodding and loosening his arms a touch so he could walk backwards towards the bed. "And you don't have to wait for me to give you hugs or things like that. If you want one, take one. I'm not gonna mind."

If only it was that easy. Taking one involved having to admit wanting one, and that was tricky.

But she figured that was a talk for another day. "Thanks," she said, simply, as she let him lead her backwards.

"You're welcome," Sam said before letting go of her so he could sit down and slide backwards onto his bed. The, he was just waiting for her.

Natalie was quick to follow. Soon enough, she was laying down beside him.

Back to him, which could have looked uninviting if that hadn't been what she always did.

Sam slid up behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling himself closer to her. He tucked himself against her back and sighed.

Natalie sighed too, closing her eyes. And she hoped her aura (or whatever the proper term was) was calming down. She didn't feel as much like she was metaphorically choking, at least.

She didn't like him having to deal with it any more than he liked that she was feeling it in the first place.

He wasn't picking up on as much anxiety and sadness anymore, no. It was still there but she seemed to be calming down and relaxing, at least.

Now, maybe he'd be able to do the same.

She hoped so, at least. And maybe someday they'd even talk about how things had got this twisted up, but it wouldn't be today.

Silently being together felt like the better option, so Natalie was choosing that.

Sam was fine with silently being together. He didn't know if he could take any more instances of him causing sadness, anxiety or anger right now.

So, he'd take the quiet and he'd take the relaxing and hope it lasted for a little while so he could recover.
