room 216 ; wednesday afternoon
Like a moron, Sam was bleeding again. Skateboarding injuries happened so often that he'd just kept on boarding while the blood bled through the sleeves of his shirt and the sweat from his arms stung the scratches and gashes.
He'd eventually come back to his room and was just now getting to pulling off his shirt and taking a look at the damage. He'd definitely had worse (his back was a testament to that) but the souvenirs he'd gotten from a completely avoidable fall still hurt.
Sam took a seat on the bed and pulled out his first aid kit (yes, he had one). He'd get himself cleaned up and bandaged up and his elbows would ache and throb for a few hours before it wore off and they were good to get shredded in another fall in the future.
"You really should wear elbow pads," Brooke said, popping into existence beside him on the bed. Sam groaned and didn't look at her.
"Not now," he griped, shaking his head. "Go do...dead person things."
"Dead person things?" Brooke asked, laughing. "I am doing a dead person thing. I'm bothering you!"
Sam groaned again and tried to ignore her while he cleaned up his elbows. Arguing with Brooke was like arguing with a massive brick wall. He never won so he'd just listen.
[Door is halfway closed but the post is open. Regular humans are gonna just see and hear Sam talking to himself but if you've got the ability, you can see and hear Brooke too. NFB on what Brooke actually is though, please]

"Wouldn't I have run away already rather than stand here and talk to you and your dead friend if I was?"

"Whose to say you wouldn't have thought I was crazy insane?" Sam wondered, shrugging. "You could have been humoring me."

"Point is, I'm definitely not squeamish."

"Kinda sorry I missed seeing you as a pony," Sam lamented, shrugging. "I got to meet the other Sam and Wesley. At least you could talk though, right? No thumbs but the ability to speak. Good tradeoff?"

"I'd have preferred the no talking."

"Why weren't you?" If it'd skipped him completely, that was just plain unfair.

Kate fiddled with her Batman-like belt and all it's pockets for a few moments to produce a little bottle of fluid and a lighter. Those got offered to him.
Which would probably be confusing if you weren't the sort of person to burn bandages. Which, obviously, she was.

... Or perhaps he did.

He fell silent and eyed the things in her hand again. "You don't do that?"

"It has power. Spells are always calling for a drop of blood, because magic stays with it. Even after it's not in you anymore. Which is why you burn bandages. It's even part of the medmage oath."

That was vague enough, wasn't it?

"Well, to the right people, it's also a big neon sign that you 'call' things." People could use blood for all sorts of things. Bodily fluids in general seemed to have that property, it just turned out blood was the strongest.
